Sport Performance

When it comes to sport performance; tissue tolerance and biomechanics have to work together in order to have an optimal platform for movement. What we have done as a company is define areas of the body that we feel you should address to create efficient movements of the muscle tissue. In return you will be able to load the fulcrums and levers to their maximum potential.

Building Trigger Point Performance programming into the lower leg show real benefits, as all the muscles in the lower leg connect in the foot. The longer your foot stays on the ground, the more opportunity for error. This results in slower movement and potential injury. By creating tissue tolerance in the lower leg, we allow the foot more mobility and the ankle more stability so the body can move more efficiently.

This concept will take the wear and tear off of the knee. As you structure the foot and attempt to move on a lateral plain, the Tibia and Fibula can actually rotate and cause the patella to track improperly. If the muscles have pliability, they will do the primary moving, so the efficiency within that movement will be optimized.

Speaking specifically to field sports, or those that require a defensive stance the typical biomechanics are; knees forward, butt back, hands in front of your body, creating a "pillar of strength." The compression of the body, along with the load on the foot, will efficiently allow one to move up and down, side to side, or forward and back. Unfortunately what we typically see in the hip region is that the butt is shifted back, and the pelvis is tilted. The means the diaphragm is cut off along with dysfunctional weight distribution of the upper body placing strain on the lower limbs. If we can redefine the length tension relationship between the muscles of the upper and lower body and we increase the muscle's tolerance, we can ultimately allow the torso to stay structured through the required plains of movement. This will enable the structural integrity of the lever below the knee, above the knee, the fulcrum of the pelvis, and the lever of the torso to all work in unison, enabling one to breathe more efficiently, create structured torso rotation, and perform at an optimal level.

At Trigger Point Performance, we stick to a periodized method of micro and macro cycles to address tissue tolerance, biomechanical fulcrums and levers and the negative effects of weight distribution. We have the Ultimate 6 areas of the body that we have defined to create/recreate positive biomechanics. The foot is the foundation for every step you take. Addressing the lower leg will enable you freedom within your foot, allowing more efficient movements within multiple plains.

By addressing the Quads, we are going to eliminate the strain on the knee and the hip while creating an incredible amount of force to be drawn out of the muscle groups.

As we address the Psoas, we are going to influence the biomechanics by opening up the diaphragm so you can breath more efficiently. We are going to enable structured torso rotation, and take the strains off the L4-5 area of the lower back. Plus, we are going to remove the negative effects of the weight distribution from the upper body.

As we address the Piriformis, we create pliability within the muscle and the surrounding muscles, which will enable you to get your foot off the ground faster. We are going to enable you to move laterally in an efficient manner, along with giving you increased height and stability when springing upward or forward.

By working the Pectoralis Major and Minor we are going to allow the shoulders to take back to their natural position. This will bring strength and stability to the joint, increase force produced by your arms, and make breathing more efficient.

Building myofascial compression techniques (MCT) or Trigger Point Programming to all the areas above, we are going to create tissue tolerance and increase the efficiencies in every movement that you make. Regardless of what sport you choose, the efforts and your heart rate will decrease and your performance will ultimately increase.

Learn how to Release Your Strength by preparing your body to tolerate the various demands it will experience. Using Trigger Point Performance tools and Myofascial Compression Techniques, you can enhance performance by creating strong, elastic muscles that can produce, reduce, and stabilize force in multiple planes of motion.

Soleus

Releasing Soleus using TP Footballer & Baller Block

Freeing the foot from unwanted rigidness will enable your foot to stay on the ground the least amount of time, yielding an incredible performance whether it is tennis, football, running or soccer. The longer your foot stays on the ground, the more opportunity there is for error. The Footballer is used to address the soleus, creating elasticity and freeing the foot from unwanted rigidness. The foot now spends less time in contact with the ground resulting in an increase in overall performance while reducing the opportunity for error.

Soleus/Gastroc

Release Soleus/Gastroc using 2 TP Massage Balls

The muscles in the lower leg create an incredible amount of explosive force through multiple plains of movement. By freeing the muscles to move efficiently, a greater range of foot functionality and increased performance will come out of the lower limb, allowing performance at the highest level.

The Double Ball manipulation targets the soleus and gastroc region to create explosive force through multiple planes of movement. Freeing up dysfunctional tissue in this region restores foot functionality and creates explosive strength.

Quadriceps

Release Quads using TP Quadballer

Creating elasticity through Myofascial Compression Techniques within the quads will result in the ability to maintain structural integrity through multiple plains of movement. The Quadballer is used to create elasticity and fluidity in the quadriceps region improving overall biomechanics and force production.

Psoas

Releasing Psoas using TP Massage Ball

This manipulation is one that is incredible when applied properly as it has the ability to release the muscles within this area which ultimately helps open up the diaphragm, relieve aches and pains of the lower back, and provide structural integrity for prolonged periods of movement. The TP Massage Ball is used to target the psoas which ultimately helps open up the diaphragm and provide structural integrity for prolonged periods of movement.

Piriformis

Release Piriformis using TP Massage Ball

The TP Massage Ball is used to systematically address this key muscle in the gluteal region. Restoring tissue tolerance in the piriformis allows you to optimally transfer force through the hips resulting in greater movement efficiency and force production.

Pec Major/Minor

Release Pec Major/Minor using TP Massage Ball

Addressing pec major/minor will allow the shoulders to rotate back naturally, enabling the body to efficiently breathe while at the same time, freeing the arm to move in multiple plains without the unwanted restrictions created by loss of tissue tolerance.

The TP Massage Ball is used to free up dysfunctional tissue in the pectoral region allowing the shoulders to rotate back naturally. This creates a stronger, more stable shoulder and allows the arms to move freely while opening up the chest, enabling the body to take in oxygen more efficiently.
